Some time ago we heard a phrase that perfectly describes skateboarding: it's the most collective individual sport in the world.
It's an undeniable truth.
Although the skater is alone on his skateboard, the camaraderie and love for the sport makes everyone cheer with every maneuver, even in championships. It's a beautiful thing to see. Every competitor who lands a trick is revered and celebrated by all the other competitors. This was seen by everyone in the world at the last Olympics.
This spirit of unity and camaraderie, this love for the sport and for one's fellow competitors, this love of adrenaline and the wonderful feeling of overcoming an obstacle or a tricky maneuver, is ingrained in skateboarding culture.
A rich and wonderful street culture.
